Check out these new “edgy” covers for classics like Wuthering Heights, Jane Eyre and Sense and Sensibility.

You may notice that Heathcliff, for example, looks like Edward Cullen from Twilight or that Elizabeth Bennet seems poised to drain you of blood if she only took off that careful bonnet.

This is no accident because, apparently, publishers are kowtowing to trends and revamping their look to give in to what’s selling. (aka The Hunger Games and all things vampire).

So, behold! The new covers of your time worn classics. I rather like these looks—it makes everything seem a little more, I dunno, sexy and dangerous? Like I might find Mr. Darcy scaling a cornucopia, or something?

2012 Bucket List Update

It’s that time of year where I revisit the Bucket List I made for myself in an effort to try and cross off more things.

Recently I crossed off #45—originally I pubbed it as “Zip Lining in Costa Rica” and, while it wasn’t in Costa Rica, I did go zipping in California.

It was over this past weekend when I went to the Navitat Canopy Adventures in Wrightwood, CA with a group of friends. Wrightwood is an adorable, quaint little town with bars called whimsical things like, “Grizzly Bear Point” and “Evergreen Lookout,” because that’s what small towns do to lure in suckers like myself.

We hiked up a mountain, went on 10 zip lines, repelled down the side of a tree three times and ended things with a free fall from a tree. It was a super fun 4 hours but also exhausting and I managed to get a cut on my leg. Which, according to the tour guide, “never happens.”

Now that I’ve crossed something off it’s time to plan for the next one. Here are the remaining possibilities:

Anyone want to help me accomplish one of these things and cross off something of their own in the process?

Okay, so I just got a job on this amazing new CW show Secret Circle, which means that my days of writing in my pajamas until 6 p.m. are over.

But it’s fantastic!! I love the pilot and the show idea, which is all about a circle of witches who find each other. It’s Twilight meets True Blood but with WITCHES.

My first day working with the staff is tomorrow, and I’ll be assisting two of the producers.

Check out the trailer above and let me know what you think!
